I don’t think you understand what this one kiss does to me when ever I watch it.

Yes, I ship River and the Doctor. I think River is incredible and the perfect match for the Doctor. But throughout the entire series, what we mostly see is that River loves the Doctor more than he loves her. UNTIL THIS EPISODE.

This is the first time River kisses the doctor (on her time line), and I know on her part, it wasn’t meant as a sweet kiss. As Bon Jovi would have put it, “her very first kiss [to the Doctor] was her first kiss goodbye)”, but on the Doctor’s part, it tender. He’s watching her gleefully, happy to finally be one step ahead of her, unlike every other time they have met so far. He’s disarmed her twice and he finds her persistence adorable. And then he kisses him, its a short kiss, AND HIS LIPS FOLLOW HERS, AS IF ASKING FOR MORE. JUST ONE SECOND MORE.

And that’s how I feel every time they kiss, I beg that they hold each other for one second more.
